[Mooi Lamazi is closed.]
One block off of the Markt, this pleasant restaurant has some variety on their menu and great service.
The food is a mix of Dutch, Turkish and Georgian cuisine, which is to say that there are a lot of Mediterranean dishes on the menu. Their small menu includes several vegetarian options.
Most of the food is very good. Stick to their specialities of Mediterranean dishes. If you stray off course and order the burger, for example, you probably won’t be very happy. Check with the server about specials, as they vary.
The Proeverij Mooi Lamazi is a sampling of different dips with bread and is really good. It’s large, so it’s a great way to start a meal if you’re hungry and sharing but also makes for a small meal on its own. The hummus bey, essentially an open-faced warm hummus sandwich, was also delicious. They serve Georgian wine, which is delicious and worth a try.
The decor has a rustic feel. There are a few coveted outdoor tables and a reasonable amount of space inside, including one large table for parties. It’s clean and stylish, making it a good place for a business meeting or a date.
The staff is quite attentive and friendly. The kitchen is open, so you’re likely to interact with the chef as well as the servers. However, at the time of this writing, the restaurant was very new and was still working out some kinks with their service.
The menu is only in Dutch, but the wait staff is happy to translate.
Dinner will cost around €30.
