Michel’s

The Dutch may all go on their summer holidays to France, but they seem to only want French bread there. Michel’s has brought excellent French baked goods, and a variety of other foods, to Delft.

Food

If you can’t tell from the name, the cuisine is French. Michel’s was, until recently, a bakery and only expanded their food menu when they moved locations. Now they’ve added salads, soups and sandwiches to the menu. They also have coffee, tea, etc.

Pretty much all of the baked goodies are delicious, especially the croissants and pain au chocolat. The eclairs are also amazing. The food menu changes regularly but the quiche is excellent and served with a nice side salad. The sandwiches are also delicious, served on their tasty, chewy baguettes.

Ambiance

It’s cosy and rustic, with a very small back terrace to dine on if the weather is agreeable. It’s not a great place to sit and work, but a nice spot for an intimate meal or coffee.

Service

It’s a mix of table and counter service. If you’re sitting to eat, they offer table service. However, it’s not the most efficient and you may be inclined to order from the counter instead, especially if you’re in a hurry or hungry. If you’re ordering to take away, you order from the counter.

Extras

There are no English-language menus. There is wifi. There’s also lots of food products, jellies, jams, etc for sale as gifts or as accompaniment to your bakery purchases.

Price

Lunch will cost around €10 per person, prices of baked goods and breads vary.
