Need a place to celebrate your anniversary or to treat yourself for a cosy celebration? Matties is a great choice.
The menu is a bit of Dutch and a bit of French. In some places, the cuisine is referred to as “European”. There’s a variety of cold and warm starters and plenty of soups. The entree menu is large for the quaintness of the restaurant and includes a large fish selection.
The three course menu is the way to go, but if you want to select fewer dishes, or nothing on the three course options sparks your interest, try the Ham and Melon if it’s melon season. For a warm starter, both the Snails and the Fried Mushrooms are very good. For an entree, the Pork Tenderloin and the Fresh Sole are tasty.
Matties is perfect as a romantic date location or for an intimate dinner with friends. It’s a very cozy space, with a single room that only seats around forty people. It’s very swanky with white linens and plenty of flatware.
The service is very attentive. It’s a small place with the space for only one server, so it’s not always incredibly fast, but the server is very friendly.
They do a three course dinner which allows you to choose from a few meal options. There’s also a very good wine menu. The menu has a lot of vegetarian options.
Dinner will cost you around €50.
