[The Delft location of Burgerz has closed but the location in The Hague is still open.]

Burgerz is a chain of burger places with locations in the Hague and Scheveningen that aim to serve American-style hamburgers in a “trendy and urban environment.”

The menu is, as the name promises, mostly burgers. They veer off the traditional path of beef burgers with a variety of lamb, chicken, vegetarian and even vegan burgers, as well, plus the usual burger-affiliated sides like fries and nachos.

The Spicy Chili burger, served with jalapenos, is tasty. Not into beef? The lamb burger is very good, and I’d particularly recommend The Italian Job. For the non-meat eaters, experiment with the Dutch Weed burger, which is not exactly as advertised. It’s made with seaweed. If you can’t decide, try the sliders which are the chef’s choice of three small burgers in a variety of preparations.

And don’t forget the sides. The sweet potato fries are delicious.

It’s an informal place, with graffiti on the walls and huge booths. During the summer, they have a boat on the canal so you can sit outside. Good for a warm evening.

It’s typical Dutch. Not awful, but expect to have to ask for more drinks, etc.

There’s power outlets and wifi. It’s great if you’re trying to recharge your devices. The menu is available in English.

The lunch and dinner menus are the same. Both meals will run you about €25.
